Uploading images to a gallery...
Is it possible to get large images reduced in size to the maximum allowed upload size?
Can this be done automatically, or perhaps a Resize feature?

It would be very handy to have this at point of upload, rather than forcing the user to resize the image on their device and try uploading again.

You can set the Maximum Image Width in the ACP -> Core -> Image Support -> Global Config. Set it to something like 1600 and that will "downsize" any larger file before it is stored the max width or height is max 1600 pixels.
