A lot of sites I use have CKEditor. Was there a reason why JR isn't using CKEditor or similar product? I see editors everywhere, mainly just curious why JR doesn't include one.

Thanks!

Jamroom uses TinyMCE - same idea. I've used CKeditor in the past, and at the time we were deciding which to go with CKEditor was a real PITA to work with from the developer level if you wanted to do anything custom. Probably better now, but we went with TinyMCE.

Thanks, I was just curious. I was using CKEditor on another site and yea, it was a real pain to customize.

Is there somewhere I can activate the GUI editor? For this post I'm making it's a box where I can manually add BBCode if I choose. Was there an ability to use the graphic interface on a JR site?

Thanks!

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean - the TinyMCE editor is part of the core and enabled for a lot of modules:

- you see it when creating/updating a blog
- you see it when creating/updating a page
- you can enable it for the forum, comments, activity modules

Let me know if that is what you're looking for.

Thanks!

I was looking to activate the GUI interface - if that's the correct term.

Right now I'm seeing this

I was looking for this:

Yeah - if it is for the forum, you need to go into the Global Config and enable the editor.

It is not enabled here on jamroom.net.

Let me know if that helps.
